Pavones is located in the very southwest of Costa Rica in Central America.
It is a boutique beach and mountain area within hiking distance to the Panamanian border. Made famous for having the second longest left hand wave in the world, Pavones is a surfer's delight. Although surf is a major plus to living in Pavones, the area has a lot more to offer; it maintains much of it's local flavor, unlike other parts of coastal Costa Rica, it has a rich agricultural history, it boasts an expanive Indigenous Territory home to the Ngäbe people, it is a yoga hotspot, it looks over the Golfo Dulce where humpback whales migrate to breed, and there are tons of hiking and other outdoor activities to partake in. Pavones is a naturalists dream come true!
